Which ViseeO Bluetooth Adapter do I need for my Mercedes-Benz?

Which ViseeO you will for your Mercedes need depends on which telephone equipment you have installed in your vehicle. Model years are given as a guide only, so just because your car was made in a certain year does not mean it requires a specific product based on this information alone.

ViseeO MBU-1000

If your car has a factory fitted cradle in the centre armrest for either the Nokia 6150/6210/6310/6310i then you will require a ViseeO MBU-1000. The base of the cradle should be fixed in the car and will not be removable. The section of the cradle which holds the phone may be removable but will remain attached to the car via a "curly cord". This system is generally found in cars made between 1999-2004 but is not limited to this time period.

The MBU-1000 will not work with any aftermarket fitted kit where the cradle may be mounted on a bracket next to the radio. The MBU-1000 will only work with Mercedes-Benz and no other vehicle makes.

ViseeO MB-2 (formerly MBU-2000)

If your car has a removable cradle system (known as "UHI" or "MHI" system) then you will require a ViseeO MB-2. This system can be identified by the UHI plug (see picture below) which is found in the centre armrest. This may be hidden in some cars by a black plastic cap if a phone cradle has never been installed. This plastic cap can be simply unclipped to reveal the plug. You may already have a phone cradle from Mercedes installed; any cradle fitted will easily unclip from the UHI plug by carefully sliding towards the rear of the car. The ViseeO MB-2 simply clips onto the UHI plug and requires no further installation.

If your car has none of the above telephone systems then the ViseeO adapters will not be suitable for your car. It may be possible to retrofit one of the above telephone systems to your vehicle but you would need to consult with Mercedes or a specialist for this. If you have a USA spec car with a fixed Motorola phone system (usually pre-2004) then none of the ViseeO systems are compatible with your vehicle.
